December 6, 2009 in AutoCAD, CAD, Revit

revit10tutorial
I have posted several Revit Architecture tutorial in this blog for months. I compiled them in an e-book that you can read comfortably without having to visit the pages. It’s not exactly the same with the existing tutorials, but yes, it’s very similar. I fixed some editorial errors, add some more screenshots to describe the steps better, and provide some tutorial files. With the tutorial files, you can compare what you did to my model, or simply start a chapter using files provided. If you want to see what’s inside the book, download the table of contents here.
So I stop providing free contents? Surely not! I still provide free contents on this blog. Consider this is an alternative to read the blog content for a small fee. And also consider this as a donation to make this blog better.
Click this button to buy this e-book. After the payment successful, you will be automatically redirected to download page. I will also send you an email for alternative download link, but because of the time zone difference, please be patient that I can’t email you immediately. The e-book price is US$ 12.5.

DO NOT share the download link!

Architectural Technologist – Put Architecture on stage

I found this on the Sensing Architecture web site, I just thought it’s a very cool way to use the facade of any building, does it work in bright sunlight, I don’t think so, but its interesting all the same.

The video is by Urban Screen, a company that claims to “put architecture on stage”. They basically design large-scale projections for urban surfaces.

You will notice how the building facade in this video becomes dynamic and its skin seems to “breathe” — even if it is only an illusion.

I think this is one piece of Technology, we should all be looking at, its well,,,,,, see for your self, I have watched this twice and each time I can see great new applications for Architecture and the detailing of buildings,. Microsoft is not one of my favourite companies, I don’t have any of their software on any of my machines, but this is truly amazing and I could well be tempted if the price comes into my area of affordability.

This is indeed a find, Schools of Architecture from around the globe offering there lectures and course notes for anyone to see, Anyone can go back to school, thanks to free online architecture classes offered by big name universities. The courses run the gamut, from historic preservation to modernist theory.

Yes, there are drawbacks. You can’t chat with the professors or classmates. You can’t earn credits or work toward a degree. But you’ll get the same lecture notes and assignments as “live” students. In some cases, you can even download free audio files and videos. This is certainly a great find and I have already spent over an hour looking at the MIT site,
