I am a major fan of the BE2Camp unconference theme, its just a very cool and simple way to meet and listern to very good presentations, the one I attended in Birmingham was just very good, I’m only sorry I did not get chance to travel to London to the recent event there, but this new Ecocamp looks to be just the ticket. I certainly have mine booked and will be there.

Be2camp member Carmen Boscolo is organising EcoCamp in Coventry, UK, on Saturday 12 December and its sustainability theme may well appeal to many Be2camp people, including some of those who attended Be2camp Brum in August. We are working in partnership with EcoCamp to promote the event, and you can register to attend at www.ecocamp.ning.com.

I attended the Brum Be2camp event, recently and deeply regret not being able to attend the London show 7-8 October 2009, but a lot of the daily presentations are online at the Be2camp web site Have a wonder about, the site, the actual videos are often quite dark or grainy, but there all free and well worth viewing.

I read in the AEC Magazine that HOK have invested quite heavily in 3D printing, their London office have just purchased 3 units. Are we seeing the 3D printer come of age, I certainly hope so, I saw a demo about a year back and just could not get over the accuracy of the printing and its ability to isolate components away from each other, I think I said in a blog that I saw the gear wheels printed and they all turned independently, very cool.

Printing has come an awful way since the picture top right, I would not spend less than an hour here following the links to youtube and watching the video demos. best of all get the rep in and see for your self, I don’t know if they are at Interbuild, I hope so. You might like to visit thinglab’s web site for more info

I wonder what program HOK are using to generate their 3D work,
