Autodesk Simulation DFM Software Simplifies Plastic Part Design for Manufacturers

SAN RAFAEL, Calif.–(BUSINESS WIRE)–Autodesk, Inc. (NASDAQ:ADSK) announced the availability of Autodesk Simulation DFM (Design for Manufacturing) software, the industry’s first real-time injection molding simulation software that provides real-time feedback. The CAD software plug-in provides designers of plastic parts with a faster and easier way to determine the impact of design decisions on manufacturability, cost and sustainability concerns.

Based on Autodesk Labs technology also known as Project Krypton, Autodesk Simulation DFM seamlessly integrates with Autodesk Product Design Suite software, and specifically Autodesk Inventor software, and provides a complementary technology to Autodesk Simulation Moldflowsoftware. Autodesk Simulation DFM also works with Dassault, SolidWorks and PTC Creo software to support companies working in a multi-CAD environment.

Autodesk has published the system requirements for the upcoming new 2013 version release of AutoCAD Civil 3D.

The AutoCAD Civil 3D 2013 system requirements are:

For 32-Bit AutoCAD Civil 3D 2013

  • Microsoft® Windows® 7 (recommended) Enterprise, Ultimate, or Professional edition  or Microsoft® Windows® XP Professional edition (SP3 or later)
  • For Windows 7: Intel® Pentium® 4 processor or AMD Athlon™ dual-core processor, 3.0 GHz or faster with SSE2 technology
  • For Windows XP: Intel Pentium 4 or AMD Athlon dual-core processor, 1.6 GHz or faster with SSE2 technology
  • 2 GB RAM minimum (4 GB recommended)
  • 12 GB disk space for installation (7 GB for electronic download with at least 2 GB free after installation)
  • 1,280 x 1,024 true color video display adapter (1,600 x 1,200 with true color recommended, multiple monitors are supported)
